Pamela Anderson Doesn't Go Makeup-Free at First-Ever Met Gala

The actress has made a statement in recent years with her makeup-free looks.

Pamela Anderson has made headlines with her makeup-free looks in recent years, however, for her first time at the Met Gala, she did put on just a bit.

The actress wowed during her first time on the Met's iconic steps in a cream-colored custom Oscar de la Renta gown, with a matching headpiece. She wore minimal makeup, with natural accents on her eyes, lips and cheeks, however, the look was much more polished than the actress' makeup-free outings of late.

The look was in line with the 2024 Met Gala's theme, "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion," and its dress code, "The Garden of Time." Vogue advised that guests follow the latter, which is inspired by J.G. Ballard's 1962 short story of the same title, by donning "melancholic florals."

As for why Anderson has opted to go makeup-free recently, the beauty choice is something she's made her signature as of late. In 2019, Anderson's makeup artist, Alexis Vogel, died from breast cancer.

"She was the best," Anderson told ELLE of Vogel last year. "And since then, I just felt, without Alexis, it's just better for me not to wear makeup."

Anderson called her new minimalist aesthetic "freeing, and fun, and a little rebellious too," and noted, "I did notice that there were all these people doing big makeup looks, and it's just like me to go against the grain and do the opposite of what everyone's doing."

When ET spoke to Anderson shortly thereafter, the actress said her new look coincides with "a new chapter" of her life.
